has anyone ever tried this on their tophat?

I've been knocking up a pair like Atomhttp://www.sailnet.com/forums/gear-maintenance-articles/20077-giving-your-boat-some-legs.html seem to be the best way to retrofit without holes, the keel of the tophat is ideal for this I think!
