Queensland's sun --too hot ,hot ,hot! :oops:
went to school in Ipswich /Brisbane,
:arrow: moved to cooler Sydney in late 70's :D
varnishing timber work is not as hard as it sounded, once you get starded .winter is a good time for this task.
it's very rewarding :P good luck,

All my interior timber is merely coated wtih Penetrol.

Super easy.

Just need a cheap paint brush and throw it out when finished.
Looks fabulous.

After 2 years it needed a recoat but it is really quick.
