hi Top Hatters

Quick Review of 2010 :D

REMEMBER THESE 4 LITTLE THINGS ABOUT TOP HATS

1 Mk 1 Top Hats are the prettiest and the best :D
2 Inboards are better than outboards
3 Hank sails are better than furlers :D
And last of all
4 Top Hats don't need inner forestays

HAPPY NEW YEAR FROM BEAR ;)

Bear you are certainly the sh*t stirrer of the site... <seems to be a talent>

1. Mk3 look more rockstar and go faster. (Esp. if red)
2. Both are good and serve the purpose but, try lifting out your inboard next time you get a fouled prop!
3. I would not own a boat without a furler, as I have no friends to send forward.
4. Learn how to spell 8-) , but I would use a forestay if I was heading offshore.

What will 2011 bring hey!?

Hi All,

I have actually found a Mk 1 [Knickerbocker] with an inner forestay :o .

BUT, the owner said he never used it, surprise surprise :o :o and he had a PVC tube over it so his foresails would not get caught in a tack.

Interestingly, there were no forward lower stays on the mast, but the standard U bolts were fitted????

And yes I can hear you all now, where are the photos, well he escaped south at 0400 hours today, after being held up here with all the SE winds, before I could get them. They have been 9 month on a return trip as far north as the Whitsundays. I hope to get their story next year for your enjoyment. They are based at Koolawong Bay Gosford, so some of you may know them.

Phillip.

PS Happy New Year to all :D
