New Years Eve

New Years Eve

Postby SeaLady » Tue Dec 07, 2010 4:56 pm

Hi everyone.

What are we all doing for NYE?

Weather permitting I will be in Athol Bay, just off the Zoo for a few days.
I find that staying at anchor for a few days with the magnificent view of the Opera House, Bridge and City is a hardship that I am willing to endure for a great possie to watch the fireworks.

My favourite spot is near Bradleys Head.
Protected from nearly everything, shallow with a sandy bottom and they generally have people selling coffee and ice cream etc on the land.

Also makes for an easy row or swim to pick up pasengers.

Rafting up is generally frowned upon. But I am sure we could have a few boats close to each other, certainly within ice throwing distance. :D

Any takers?

It's a possibility. We have a loose plan to sail to Sydney for the NYE festivities, but as with last year we're not certain yet. With rafting, is it only frowned upon at anchor, or on moorings as well. Does anyone know the reasoning? After all, it does allow more boats into a smaller area.

Re Rafting.

When I checked last year, they said it was ok as long as safe!!!!

And the officials can ask you to 'de raft'? is that a word at any time.
