This is video of L'hydroptere, for those who haven't seen it. 51 knots average in 28 knots of wind.

I saw the Americas cup cats too, brilliant!

As for a Lake Mac visit, things are a little tight for me time wise for the moment, but winter might be worth a shot!

G'Day Mike,
Wot Rocket (Sean Langman) was trying to break the 50 knots limit a bit closer to home, on Botany Bay and then on Lake Macquarie. I don't know what happened. The web site doesn't seem to say much more after 2009.

It probably hit an Etchell or a Farr 40 from LMYC and "took it out".

I know the World Sailing Speed Record Council has ratified the kite-board record, but is a kite-board really a sailing vessel?

According to the dictionary, a sailing vessel is one with a sail, mast and spars, not a kite on a rope.

Interested to hear other views.
