Hi all Top Hatters in vic,
Thinking of having a Top Hat get together some time this summer. What are your thoughts? We could have it down here in Geelong or up the top end of the bay? Plenty of time to work out what time and location.
Feedback please
Dave

Hi Dave.
Sounds like a great idea.
Either meet up at the top of the bay for a sail, then up the Yarra and spend the night in the city.......
....or meet at Portarlington and sail to Geelong and go out for a meal in Geelong.....
Im pretty flexible with dates and would love to get a few Tophats together for a sail.
Cheers.
Dave

Either spot works for us.
Just let us know the time and place!

Looks like we will be getting together sometime this summer, when and where is yet to be locked in. Keep your feedback coming in to help me work out what will work for all.

Just to throw in some options for Geelong if we end up here (not locked in). Geelong has some sailing events which maybe a good reason to gather.
Festival of sail - January 25 to 27. Linked to RGYC is mainly a racing weekend
Wooden boat Festival Geelong - February 6 to 9. ( my favourite) for all who like sea shanties and boat stuff.

Hi all, I am a definite starter. If it is determined that the gathering should be at the top end of Port Phillip, I am sure I can arrange for hospitality to be provided at Hobsons Bay Yacht Club. Alternatively, I would also be happy to sail to Geelong - but mooring could be difficult on the dates suggested by Dave (even though they are my preferred dates to visit Geelong.)
Cheers,
Kevin

Hi kevin,
You are right about getting a birth at that time. If you are willing you can arrange to have it at Hobson Bay? We will be there.

HBYC would be ideal Kevin.
We could BBQ at the Club or eat out at any of the local food houses......
I reckon we should do it either before,or after, the Australia Day weekend to avoid some of the long weekend "silliness"

Hi all Port Phillip (and surrounds) Top Hat Owners. I have made initial arrangements for hospitality and the use of the BBQ (if required) at Hobsons Bay Yacht Club, for Sunday 9th February 2020. Please confirm if this date is suitable and if you are able to make the gathering.
Cheers,
Kevin
