So how many coming up from Pittwater and Sydney???

I'm planning to, though only if I get anything south of NE on Thursday or Friday and the prediction of NE for Sunday/Monday.

Don't fancy motor sailing all that way. Gabi may drive up for the Saturday dinner and stay over.

Perhaps we should revise the gathering to a Top Hat Forum Members gathering, rather than Top Hat Raft Up.... So, you can bring whatever you have I reckon..... :-)

Even a motorbike, they're on the Forum.

If Shaun gets the order of the tipping dinghy again, does he get the "A funny thing happened on the way to the Forum award"?

Phil and I are at Port Stephans.
Exhilarating days sailing yesterday!, apparently the EAC was going over 4kts so I went out wide, when the wind built up I was doing 8, 9 & 10 kts (SOG) consistently.
While East of Broughton, did an accidental gybe, resulting in being hove-to, and broke batten, still doing 5.5kts.

Well Shaun did not have all the excitement, as I came between the heads thought mmm the wind is building better lower the sails, started on the yanky jib and before I knew it we were hit by a wind burst which set Seaka in a 360. Then all the alarms went off, I was cursing the AIS alarm when I realised that it was the engine alarm, Oh S... yep overheating again. Engine shut off.

First get all sails down which I did, roughly, then call Marine Rescue, they wanted to change channels but I refused and after that they were quick to organise a Police boat to come and get me. Suggested putting anchor down which I did in 20m of water and it held!!!

The Police boat soon arrived and they said.....get your anchor up. Oh S... 30m of chain straight down  luckily I have a small hand winch and once I got that working struggled for 20 mins to get it up. Only took about the same for the Police boat to tow me to an anchorage buoy around Tomaree Head.

Found this morning that it was an air block, must of healed over more than I realised.

PS, there is more to Shaun's story I think ;)

Looking at coming down to the lake in one jump on Tuesday.
Phillip.
