The Basin is in the same bay as Coaters Retreat. It is on the West Side Pittwater opposite Palm Beach Wharf, south of Great Mackerel Beach. A Google search of Coasters Retreat should bring up a map.

Cheers,
Mark

Forcast looks great for those sailing up from Sydney next week, but not too flash for those who want to sail down from up North. Of course, the weather can always change.

You're right again Mark.
Nobbys recorded today at 1630 28 gusting 41kts.
I've just got the rubber for the portlights but I can;t get to the boat until mon or Tues. That doesn't leave me much time for the window to set. I'm not sailing to windward so I'd estimate a less than 50% chance at the moment of making it.
The weather forecast has changed several times so far so I'll just keep watching....and waiting.
I don't know how Phillip feels?
Last night at Wind Warrior RC yachts it was so cold it could "Freeze the walls off a bark humpy".

Ahhhhhh hhhhh Greg and Mike,

How do I feel in two words... BLOODY FRUSTRATED!

Yes it seems as if the weather window has passed me by this morning and tomorrow.

Predicted southerlies [on the nose] from Sunday with a 6 hour period on thursday pm of about 25knts that knocks the planning all over the place. :( :(

OH HOW I HATE SAILING TO A DATE

Anyway, the window can still change, but it has to be 30 hours long!
Seaka is ready except for perishable food and the dinghy.

If nothing changes will be sailing down the F3 on Friday.

Shaun,

Yes there appears to be a small window.
:D

If it comes off we leave on or about the tide change this Thursday.
Bring your wet weather gear as we may get rained on!
:(

Give me a ring some time tonight please.

Just wanting to confirm.

Are we talking about the long weekend 9,10,11th June or next weekend 2nd and 3rd?

Please say the long weekend as I have a window of opportunity of a shipwright at mates rates so Sea Lady is on the hardstand and the list of jobs keeps getting longer so she won't be back in the water for the 2nd-3rd.

For those who are interested list of jobs so far includes:

* Making anchor well MUCH bigger to be able to fit anchor, fenders, spare lines and one of those manual help haul up anchor thingies.

* Repair old and new dings. Fix all those little niggly things everywhere.

* Replace very broken toe rail - with white beech

* Reinforce V berth floor

* Remove domestic carpet lining, replace with marine lining.

* Remove all extra odd protuberances everywhere and refibreglass

* Antifoul and raise water line

* Build and install shelving in V berth

* Install second fuel tank with a switch

* Install new marine radio and fix electrics including replacing old light fittings with LED including a double set of switchable navigation lights. One of the top of the mast and the other at deck level. Make stero work i.e. replace corroded wiring.

* Repaint deck and inside cabin

*Strengthen and make less wobbly all stauntions. Strip and make pretty safety lines. Clean and polish stove.

* Make everything safer for me to sail more safely including a major reinforcing of my clip on spot, run all lines back to cockpit. Install strapping so I can secure more stuff!!!

*Remove 6 years of obviously essential 'stuff' including 6 sets of bed sheets and 4 sleeping bags (as well as 2 dooners). Downsize amount of stuff.

* Clean and check all lifejackets. I had 10 on board, most mouldy. Identify and solve problem of mould.

I won't get to repaint the hull sadly. Not enough time nor money. But I may try and find the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow and get it done.

Diana,

Sounds like a LOT of time and Frustration but worth it in a week or two, when she is back in the water looking all pristine again.

At least you can see the end of the tunnel, I am STILL awaiting Survey, hopefully slipping Wednesday and then soon thereafter.
