Hi Mark ,

That's ok mate , catch up in the near future , you have my details .

P.S

i was putting my sailing ability today down to a lack of experience , though it seems I wasnt the only Top Hat owner having concerns today in the adverse conditions , though I believe my headsail is rather large , and that I need to consider replacing in the future .

Glad you all had fun in the rain.

Us Sea Ladies are pretty good at avoiding miserable weather.

Instead of getting soggy with you all was warm and dry making Christmas puddings and licking the spoon.

We had planned to come out, and we're still getting ready at about 10.30am Sunday, however the thought of spending all day wet was starting to look much less attractive, than curling up on the lounge. I've had my fair share of wet days, and whilst I don't mind getting wet after a good days dry sailing, going out in that weather on purpose is in the past.

I did however get a really good surf in at Collaroy between 4 and 6 yesterday arvo.

Next one might have to be in the Harbour, or back p to Lake Macquarie. How about Feb?

Brad. How did you get past me ? I left Elvina bay at 11am. with the wind on my tail. Did you spend the night in Towlers bay?
Cheers.
Larry.

Morning all

Apologies but only very very very very keen sailors go out in miserable condidations like yesterday and I have a new crew mate that I don't want to put off for life as he's only starting and has already experienced a full on southerly buster aboard Curly Tops! Nevertheless, I was a little bit peeved that I wasn't out with you as my jib could use a good shower!

I am planning a coastal trip around the third week of December from Sydney to Port Stephens and on to Broughton Island. I'll create a new 'topic' page for this for all those keen to come along and for those that might like to share their past experiences with me. Cruising chute is ordered (Thanks for your advice Mark - Storm Petrol) so very excited about that. Has anyone entered Pt Stephens or lake Macquarrie without a depth sounder? Although my nav work is pretty ok, I'm thnking I'd like to have that little comfort installed before I head north...

I did not use my sounder going into and out of Lake Macquarie in January and my experience with Port Stephens is that it is easier again unless you plan to explore the inner Bays where you need to keep an eye on depths.

I hope you enjoy the kite, we have had a lot of fun with ours.

Cheers,
Mark
