Does the club have showers for salty sailors?

YEP !

The club manages the Jetty located immediately in front of the club premises. This is a relatively large deep water marina type jetty with draft up to 2 metres for general public and community use. Overnight mooring is allowed for a modest fee for bona fide tourists, which includes access to power and water connections. Sewerage discharge tank and transfer pump are installed on the jetty's southern extremity. Shower facilities within the club are available for visiting boaters, along with out-of-hours access to external toilets.

The third post on the previous (3rd) page on 7th Aug had that and more info on it. It can be a problem getting the key back in the morning and getting your deposit if you leave early, but I'm sure we can organise something.
Some time ago they would not charge a deposit ($50) on the key if you were a member. Membership is $5 and you can drop the key in the letterbox when you leave. ;)

Disclaimer 1 I'm not organising anything.
Disclaimer 2 For more information see Bear McNally.

Greg.

PS Sean, I saw Azzura at the yacht club, she looks good. (for a MK 1)

We are keen to sail up but it really depends on a reasonable weather window. I think it is very unlikely that we will get suitable wind and seas on 2nd-4th given the winter we have had but we will keep our fingers crossed.

Mark, that is a very seamanlike thing to do, don't sail in weather you're not comfortable with.

There are numerous opportunities to leave your boat here for a time when it is safe to sail back so don't feel trapped.

Hi Greg,
Everything is in the eye of the beholder and to mine the Mark I is sheer perfection :D but I am prepared to admit that I am biassed. The Top Hat is the greatest pocket cruiser around and I have had a few boats in my time, bigger boats, big name designers, but the Top Hat beats them all. 8-)

Hi Greg,

Storm Petrel and her motley crew can get comfortable in all but the most horrible sea conditions. It is more the time to reach Swansea that will influence our decision. I know how bloody slow a Tophat can be when beating into a strong wind and choppy sea. Call me old fashioned but I also hate motor sailing (even though I have an inboard), so I really need to be sure there is going to be wind in a good quarter from the wee hours to get up to Swansea by 2pm.

Cheers,
Mark

So, if we intrepid Sydneyites are coming on the 2nd or 3rd, where should we be looking at staying?

It's Father's Day on the 4th and I need to be in Sydney for lunch. I'll more than likely need to leave Dulcamara for a week or two at least, or try getting back out to see at midnight on Saturday night and sail home overnight. The former is preferable.

Because Gabi is driving up on the Saturday, I'm trying to avoid her having to circumnavigating the lake to pick me up from parking the boat.

What are the options/recommendations for leaving her for a while? Lake Macquarie Yacht club? Anywhere else?

Any suggestions would be most gratefully accepted.... :)

i'd recommend Marmong point maina, I have posted details of their rates earlier on.
Second would be Lake Mac yacht Club.
Both have plenty of space at this time of year.
Do yourself a favour and spend some time on the lake, its worth the effort to get here.
I spent last night at Pulbah Is. on the courtesy mooring. Protected mooring, great moon rise warm night, bushwalk on the Island walking hand in hand with myself. What more could you want.
