I have found this excellent article that can help all of us to setting up our boat or reviewing our existing set-up.
I would like to see how is your set-up or if you are planning on.
I am considering go the closest that I can to the centre of Pele but have to go over the solar panels.

I have conventional jackstays along the side decks outside the shrouds, plus a line running along the centre of the cabin roof from near the winches to the mast, plus a line tied to the mast at the gooseneck with a spring hook on the end to attach to my harness.
Of these, the one I use most is the spring hook tied to the mast. It is long enough to let me stand and work with the whisker/spinnaker pole, while short enough to prevent me going overboard. I always use it when handling the pole.
I occasionally connect a tether to the line along the centre of the cabin roof, but more often find it a useful handhold, particularly when heeled.
I rarely use the jackstays on the side decks but would do on the rare occasions I have to go forward of the mast in rough weather.

This article has a lot of critically important information!!
I rigged jacklines, each side, on the cabin top, terminating on the tabernacle. For working at the mast, I take a second short tether to clip to the spinaker-pole fitting. For foredeck/anchor work, I use a slightly longer tether to a pad-eye on the foredeck. Clip to the next strong point before unclipping from the last.
I have tested these and if properly harnessed I cannot go over the side.
The weak link is the harness, currently a PFD with crotch strap. I bought a proprietory harness which turned out to much worse than the PFD, so got rid of it. My current project is to add shoulder straps to a rockclimbing harness and try that.
Always pee in the head/bucket, never at the rails.
I usually sail alone so a lifejacket is of no real use. On 'Kittiwake' there is only one saftey rule: NEVER GO OVER THE SIDE.
